Summer Camp Themes

June 3-7, Week 1: Music and Movement: Come explore various styles of music to dance, move, wiggle and jump to! Campers will create their own instruments, use a variety of cultural instruments to make music, and hear special performances from local artists. Kids will listen to and create their own music and celebrate with styles from around the world.

June 10-14, Week 2: World Explorers: Do you want to know more about the world we live in? Come to CMON’s World Explorers camp to see, hear, touch, taste and feel all kinds of world cultural experiences. Discover how other cultures and kids are similar and uniquely different from ourselves. Pack your passports and be ready for an adventure.

June 17-21, Week 3: CMON into Outer Space: We are ready to blast off into a week of exciting interstellar explorations. Come discover all kinds of space related activities and dream about a trip to Mars. We are going to zoom to the moon and beyond. Join us as we test gravity, explore the planets, and gaze at the stars.

June 24-28, Week 4: Art Around the World: Experience the world and connect various cultures through art. The creative process will provide your child with invaluable insight through expression and develop cultural awareness. Campers will explore using a variety of artistic mediums, such as visual art through drawing, painting, sculpting, and more.

July 1-3, 5 (4 Day Camp ONLY) Week 5: Kitchen Chemistry: This week join us in the CMON “kitchen” where we are going to explore the science of cooking and baking. Campers will investigate the physical and chemical changes that occur when we mix ingredients. Each day our campers will be engaged in food-based investigations and activities involving edible ingredients. Bon appetit!

July 8-12, Week 6-Ocean Commotion: CMON and explore the deep ocean blue with us. This week we are diving into ocean life big and small. Do you know what lives under the sea? Sharks, whales, fish, and even a manatee. Let’s dive in as we discover the mystery of them all through science and sensory investigations, while learning how to protect their future too.

July 15-19, Week 7-CMON on Stage: Come explore the fundamentals of acting, singing, improv, working in an ensemble, and other core skills that build confidence and an appreciation for the arts. Learn theater techniques, how to collaborate with other actors, develop characters, set a scene, make costumes and more.

July 22-26, Week 8-Bubbling Beakers: Testing the scientific method and chemical reactions is only just the beginning in our Bubble Beakers camp. We’ll use real laboratory equipment and dissect our way through a week’s worth of experiments, awe inspiring observations, and, of course, safely blow a few things up!

July 29-August 2, Week 9: The Olympics: The Olympic Games are a worldwide competition that celebrate skills, sportsmanship, and the global community. We’ll gather together for an opening ceremony on Monday and a closing ceremony on Friday. Active play each day will improve the ability to regulate emotions and build resiliency. Let’s join together to experience teamwork, friendly competition, and tons of fun.
