Some exciting news from C’mon! We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dena Rae Hancock as the museum’s new Executive Director. In addition, C’mon is delighted to welcome Ashley Drury Gerry and Kristine Meek to their Board of Directors.
Dena Rae Hancock joined C’mon in 2019 as the museum’s first Chief Advancement Officer. Prior to joining C’mon she was Vice President, Institutional Advancement, Marian University and Director of Campaign & Major Gifts for the Indianapolis Zoological Society.
Dena Rae holds a number of leadership and Board positions with Indiana University, and is currently serving as the incoming President of the National Varsity Club Board and has just successfully completed chairing the Women’s Philanthropic campaign portion of the IU Bicentennial 3 Billion Dollar Campaign. She has recently joined the Board of Advisors of the Internationally known Center on Philanthropy located in Indianapolis. Dena Rae’s voluntary work for the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township (MSDWT) includes serving as President of the Foundation Board, President of the MSDWT Parent Council, chair of the successful campaign to pass a general-fund referendum and chairing the victorious effort to elect three members to the MSDWT School Board. Dena Rae’s most proud accomplishment is her wonderful family. Along with her husband, P. Robert Caito, she’s the proud mother of seven children and is a full-time Naples resident.
New C’mon Board member, Ashley Drury Gerry has long been focused on charitable and philanthropic endeavors in Naples and is passionate and committed to making a “real difference on big issues effecting children and childhood related issues.” Ashley is highly experienced and skilled in local and regional community fundraising, working with several philanthropic causes, and has chaired many successful charitable endeavors over the past several years, including the JDRF Hope Gala in 2020, Community School of Naples Angel Ball and Golisano Children’s Hospital Rock-A-Bye Collier event.
Also joining the Board of Directors is Kristine Meek, Director and co-owner of the renowned Harmon-Meek Gallery, now entering its fifty-eighth season in Naples. Kristine has been an active and philanthropic member of the community, dedicating her time to several causes close to her heart. She successfully served as Vice Chairman of the Naples Zoo Board of Directors and also previously served on the Naples Art Association Board, the Magic Under the Mangroves committee for the Conservancy, and was Vice President of development for The League Club and a founding member of the Next Generation committee for the Shelter for Abused Women & Children. Kristine was also Chair of the Naples Zoo’s Cocktails & Cockatoos fundraiser in 2013.
“On behalf of C’mon, I would like to congratulate Dena Rae on her appointment as Executive Director and extend a warm welcome to Ashley Drury Gerry and Kristine Meek to our Board of Directors. We are honored to have these three highly regarded, talented and valued Naples community members as part of our C’mon management team and Board. I am confident their skills and experience will help positively propel C’mon’s growth in the coming years,” stated Ted Corbin, Chairman of the Board, C’mon Board of Directors.
